The Holidays are a perfect moment for us to take stock of the previous year, map out the year to come, and celebrate our many accomplishments.
But, let’s put it this way: 2017 was an eventful year for everyone, and it made no exceptions for our team at Zibi. While some hardships were endured by all, it’s also been a thrilling year for the National Capital Region. Be it the Can! ada 150 celebrations or tourists flocking to Ottawa-Gatineau in record-breaking numbers, our region has never been more enviable.
In order to kick off the year on a high note, here are some of our 2017 highlights and things to look forward to in 2018.
Live at Zibi
It finally happened: we erected our crane and started construction on our first residential offering, O. Overlooking the Ottawa river and a brand-new waterfront park, hedged by our first public space Zibi Plaza, this six sto! ry beauty will be ready to welcome our first residents starting in Fall 2018. We have but a handful of units left, and if you act fast, you can benefit from a $15,000 credit on closing.
Work at Zibi
One of the most popular question we’ve gotten since launching is what type of establishments are we looking to bring on at Zibi. Well, we’re happy to announce that we’re one step closer to being able to divulge some of our first commercial tenants. Having recently launched our commercial and retail strategy, we’re now fielding requests from, and meeting with, prospective partners who are all as enthused as we are in making this a truly world-class mixed-use community. If you’re considering opening or moving your business at Zibi, find all our relevant information here.
Play at Zibi
What started as a side-hustle has since become an integral part of our project: Events @ Zibi. In the past year, we’ve hosted over 70 events on site, saw over 30 couples tie the knot, and welcomed some amazing cultural institutions. Cirque du Soleil, Bluesfest, the JUNOs, Latin Sparks, and Deep Therapy are but a few of the highlights. Not to mention our social and community programming, including Craftfest, le Bal Masqué Nordik, YOW Insights, and Winter Glam for Toy Mountain and CHEO. Zibi Gives Back
This year we were proud to launch the 2017 season of the Ottawa Shoebox Project chapter. Our main partner Dream is the national sponsor for this event, and chose to launch the 2017 season at Zibi alongside chairwoman Jessica Mulroney and local host Melinda Karlsson. Together we amassed over 75 boxes for local shelters, not to mention the cash and in-kind donations. Find more about the Shoebox Project at the following blog post.
Beyond 2017
We may be happy with what we’ve accomplished in the past year, but bigger and better things await you in the new year. Our first residents will call Zibi their home, new exciting retailers will be setting up shop, our first public spaces and parks will be inaugurated, and a few other surprises will be announced shortly. We hope you’ll join us in this exhilarating new phase of Zibi.
